Redesigning the Berita Harian Digital Experience to better serve the Malay community.

Project: SPH brought Agency in to explore a better Berita Harian Web experience that better serve the Malay community in the years to come.

Brief: How might we design the user experience to create new ways for people to enjoy the Berita Harian content?

Role: Design Lead of 2 Designers + 2 client Designers

Timing: 4 weeks

 

1. Research Outcomes

 

a. Providing training in Agency research techniques.
Moving the team from a 4-6 month research timeline to a more customer-focused design research approach that runs smoothly within their new 2 week sprint design cycle.

b. An insight learning kit with short-term and long-term implications with directions for where to take those learnings.

 

2. Design Outcomes

 

a. Complete Redesign of the Web experience for Berita Harian.

b. Tested concepts for future directions and upcoming releases.

c. A starter design system built in ATOM components.

3. Product Outcomes

 

a. A complete product and analytics audit

b. A new set of success metrics for the redesign and future concepts for the core team to balance and adjust against after launch.

c. A working, tested, re-design in 4 weeks. Down from their previous 6-8 month redesign approach.
